City Islanders to hold final open tryout

The Harrisburg City Islanders will hold their third and final open tryout before the USL PRO season on February 27-28 in Lebanon County.

The Harrisburg City Islanders Professional Soccer team will hold it’s third of three open tryout combine February 27-28, 2013. The event will be held at In the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, PA., the home training ground of the City Islanders.

The Islanders coaching staff will look to continue the player identification process before it opens team camp in March 2013. “We are always looking for players to add to our roster, and the open tryouts are a great way to get to see many players over a two day period. We have signed a number of players over the years who attended open tryouts, and we are hoping for similar results this year,” City Islanders Head Coach Bill Becher stated.

Tryout Information: Trialist will be required to pay a $125 nonrefundable registration fee, in advance. The application and payment must be received before the coaching staff will review your application. Notification will be sent via email before or by Friday, February 22nd to confirm or deny acceptance. If accepted, trialist will also receive detailed information including directions, hotel and restaurant options in the area.

All trialists must be in the country to register. All student-athletes should confirm eligibility to participate with their respective college/university or NCAA. Attendance on both days and all sessions is required. The tryout will consist of a warm-up, shooting, small sided and full field games

The Harrisburg City Islanders will compete in the USL PRO in 2013 once again. USL PRO is the second highest level of professional soccer in the United States, Canada, and Caribbean. The City Islanders boast an overall record of 98-67-51 and play their home matches at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island in downtown Harrisburg. The Harrisburg City Islanders will open their season in April 2013.
