The Dunks for Drew basketball event returns for a fifth year. This event is a fundraiser for the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation of Shippensburg (www.drewmichaeltaylor.org). The foundation funds educational and grief and loss support programs for children, teens and their families. Tickets are $5. No passes will be accepted.

Here's the information, courtesy of the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation:

The 5th Annual Dunks for Drew Varsity Boy’s Basketball Showcase will be held at Chambersburg Area Senior High School on Saturday, February 4, 2012.

This year’s event will be a quadruple-header, with a 3 p.m. Varsity Boys’ game between Shalom Christian Academy and Cumberland Valley Christian School. The 4:30 match-up is a Varsity Girls’ game featuring Chambersburg vs. Shippensburg. In the final two Varsity Boys’ contests of the night, Milton-Hershey will take on Shippensburg in the 6:00 p.m. match-up with Greencastle-Antrim squaring off against Chambersburg in the 7:30 p.m. game.

This event raises money for the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation of Shippensburg, PA. The foundation was created by former Scotland School for Veterans’ Children Boy’s Basketball Coach Randy Taylor and his wife, Marcie, after the death of their 3 ½ year old son, Drew, in a June 2006 auto accident.

The Drew Michael Taylor Foundation currently funds Ready, Set, Go! - a kindergarten readiness program in the Shippensburg Area School District, and Drew's Hope - a grief and loss support program for children, teens and their families throughout Western Cumberland, Franklin and surrounding counties.
