ELCO is hosting a free NFL High School Player Development camp in June.
Here's the deal: the camp needs more players to sign-up or it won't happen, according to ELCO coach Mark Evans.
That's right -- it's free.
The NFL High School Player Development (HSPD) program can help high school players improve their play on the field and learn the off-field character skills necessary to become a more successful college student-athlete. The camp is presented by the National Guard.
The camp is June 18-22 and is open to all football players in grades 9-12 (Fall 2012-13 standing). This is a helmet-only camp and pre-registration is required.
Evans emailed me and said the camp needs at least 150 campers. Again, the camp is open to anyone; not just players from Lebanon County or even District 3.
Past participants in the NFL HSPD program include Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Haden from the Cleveland Browns.
