The Harrisburg Heat announced today it will host open tryouts for all interested players this September.
Tryouts will be held at Sports City in Harrisburg, the official training center of the Harrisburg Heat.
Long-time Heat player, coach, Hall of Famer and new Heat head coach Richard Chinapoo, will supervise the tryouts and will be assisted by a staff of former Heat Legends. Chinapoo, who coached the Heat from 1998-2002 and earned the 2001 NPSL Coach of the Year Award, was recently signed to a multi-year deal to guide the Heat in their first Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) season.
“We are very interested and committed in providing talented players with the opportunity to play professional arena soccer,” said Chinapoo. ”Our area has a fantastic pool of gifted players that I believe have a good chance of showing well during our 2-day tryout period and being selected to play for the Heat.”
The open tryouts will be held September 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September 23 from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. Tryouts are open to all soccer players ages 18 years and older.
Please note that college players with remaining eligibility are not permitted in the tryout per NCAA rules and regulations. The registration fee for each player who attends the open tryouts is $30 for advance registration and $40 for all walk ups. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
