The York Revolution will be holding auditions on Saturday, February 18 to fill the roll of its mascot, “DownTown,” for the majority of home games in the upcoming 2012 season.
The Revolution will also hold auditions for the Shipley Green Team that day, as well. The Green Team is the in-game promotional team that helps entertain fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium.
Here's more information, courtesy of the York Revolution:
Applicants for either position must be available for the majority of the Revolution’s 70 home dates this season (mascot must be available for at least 60 games). The home schedule begins May 1; lasting as long as the beginning of October should the team still be playing in the postseason. Applicants must be friendly, energetic, outgoing, dependable, in good physical shape, have reliable transportation to and from the stadium, work well with children and be at least 16 years old.
Mascot candidates will be asked to prepare a two minute skit. (Music is optional. If music is used, it's up to the person auditioning to bring it.) Props may be used, but will not be provided by the Revolution. Those auditioning for mascot will also participate in a mock Revolution on-field promotion.
Shipley Green Team applicants will also participate in a mock promotion, and should also be prepared to learn and perform a dance routine on site the day of the auditions.
The auditions will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on 2/18 at Sovereign Bank Stadium. Anyone auditioning should wear athletic clothing and sneakers. Those interested in auditioning should contact Staci Wilkenson in the Revolution front office at swilkenson@yorkrevolution.com or call 717-801-4463.
Please contact Wilkenson for more information and with any questions about the positions or audition process.
