Uplifting Athletes is hosting a tailgating party at Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators, on Saturday, October 20 for the Penn State-Iowa game.

The party, which costs $20, includes a barbecue competition.

Here's the information, courtesy of the Harrisburg Senators and Uplifting Athletes:

Uplifting Athletes is turning Metro Bank Park, a baseball stadium on City Island in Harrisburg, into a Penn State football tailgate extravaganza complete with a barbecue competition.

On October 20th the Uplifting Athletes TV Tailgate and BBQ Cookoff will kick off at 7 p.m. An hour later the Penn State vs. Iowa game will be broadcast on the big screen in right field with a heated sheltered area available to enjoy this Big Ten football game.

This is a rain, snow or shine event with provisions to move all the festivities to the covered walkway behind the grandstand should the weather fail to cooperate.

Tickets are available for $20 each and includes all food and non-alcoholic beverages. Beer will be available, but must be purchased. Those who register online by October 14 will receive two free beer tickets. Day of the event registration is welcome, however the two free beer tickets are for early registrants only.

The barbecue competition will feature local restaurants MoMo's, Shakedown Blazing Swine and Horner's Corner blazing away on their smokers and pits in three categories: pulled pork, ribs and brisket. Celebrity judges will sample all the entries and determine the winners in each category. And free samples will be available for everyone.

There will also be additional tailgating festivities including cornhole and ladders. For more information or to register, visit the Uplifting Athletes web site at www.upliftingathletes.org.
