A few weeks ago, while waiting for the school bus, 6-year-old Bella Anderson turned to her mommy and asked if she knew that there were people in this world who don't have enough to eat?

"And Bella said, 'What can we do to help them?'" says Bella's mom Jamie Anderson.

Mom told Bella to think about it during school...but it didn't take that long for her to decided what to do.

"As she was boarding the bus, she turned around to me and said, 'Mommy, I'd really like to help those people.' And that was just amazing for me," says Jamie Anderson.

So, the mother-daughter team hatched a plan to create a food drive right on their very own front porch in Lemoyne.

If you have some extra canned goods, drop them off ... and Bella will make sure they get to the Central PA Food Bank.

She's already collected several boxes of food, and money to donate to the food bank. Making a proud mom -- even prouder.

"I just can't imagine how, as a 6 year old, thinking beyond Barbies and playing outside, and she's thinking about other people," says Jamie Anderson.

If you'd like to donate food for Bella's first food drive, drop it off at 645 Hummel Avenue in Lemoyne.
