Central Dauphin loses in state wrestling semifinals

HERSHEY -- The streaks are over.

Central Dauphin fell to Canon McMillan 28-25 on Friday night in the Class AAA semifinals of the PIAA wrestling team championships at GIANT Center. The Rams had won four straight titles and were riding a 95-match winning streak.

Canon McMillan will meet McDowell from Erie in Saturday's final. McDowell defeated Mechanicsburg, 31-28. The Wildcats were making their first-ever appearance in the PIAA semifinals.

Boiling Springs, however, will wrestle for a PIAA-AA title. The Bubblers will face Bethlehem Catholic, the defending state champs, after beating Bedford, 40-24. Boiling Springs is the top seed from District 3.
