HARRISBURG -- Former Pro Bowl lineman Lincoln Kennedy, who was born in York, has been named to the board of advisors of the United States Football League.

Kennedy played eleven years in the NFL as a member of the Falcons and Raiders, as well as starring at tackle for the University of Washington. He grew up in southeast San Diego.

“We’re excited to have Lincoln join a board that already includes some accomplished former players and executives from the professional ranks,” USFL President and Chief Executive Officer Jaime Cuadra said in a statement.

Kennedy will serve on the football operations branch of the USFL’s advisory board alongside Pro Football Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and Fred Biletnikoff, as well as former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia. The new USFL plans to debut in the spring of 2013 by fielding eight teams nationwide to play a 14-game season, according to the league.

Kennedy has worked as a broadcaster for the NFL Network and currently works for FOX Sports Radio.
