BOSTON (AP) - Washington rookie Bryce Harper was out of the lineup Sunday with soreness in his back.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson said before Sunday's game at Boston that Harper's back was bothering him. The 19-year-old outfielder was still available to pinch hit.

Harper has not missed a game since making his major league debut on April 28. He is batting .282 with 17 RBIs and six home runs, including one Friday as the Nationals won the franchise's first game at Fenway Park.
