The Foundation for Central Dauphin Schools is holding a special viewing party on Friday morning at Arooga's Route 22 to watch graduates Hyleas Fountain and Ryan Whiting compete at the London Olympics.

Fountain went to Central Dauphin East; Whiting graduated from Central Dauphin.

Arooga's Route 22 is located at 7025 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg (17112).

Here's more info, courtesy of Linda Dallago, school board member and secretary of The Foundation for CDS:

As many of you know, our district is blessed to have two alumni representing the USA in the Olympics this year. Hyleas Fountain is a graduate from CD East and Ryan Whiting graduated from CD. How terrific is that! The Foundation for CD Schools will be hosting an event at Aroogas on Route 22 on TOMORROW (Friday, August 3 at 9:30 am.) Aroogas is opening early specifically for us, normal operation begins at 11 am. This event will offer a breakfast buffet for $6.99 (pretty much a first for Aroogas, wings might be on the menu!). Both Hyleas and Ryan have track events that morning (5 am and 5:05 am, but they should be taped and replayed at 10 am). We are gathering to show our support of our two graduates and to show how proud we are of their accomplishments. Both athletes are inspirational in their life stories and deserve this recognition.

I want to pack the place in their honor, please join us if you can. This is such a positive event for CD School District and tv crews have offered to be on hand. Let's make something special happen.

Aroogas is asking for a head count, so if you're planning on attending, please let Greg Goldthorp know.

Goldthorp can be reached at ggoldthorp(at)cdschools(dot)org.

Gun control has become an overwhelming focus of many in the U.S.  Pro-gun supporters say guns aren't the problem, people are; while anti-gun proponents say eliminating guns will eliminate most crime and violence.
