ELMIRA, New York -- The Millersville baseball program is no doubt hoping Mark Stuckey's summer surge is a sign of things to come.
Stuckey, a Warwick grad who is transferring to Millersville from Marist, hit .308 this summer in 41 games for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball Lesgue.
The outfielder was also selected to play in the league's all-star game and led the league in doubles with 20; smacking his final one Wednesday night in the DiamondDawgs' last regular season game.
"Just being able to play every day; it's something we don't ever get to do, except here in this type of situation (summer baseball)," said Stuckey, who hit just .159 as a redshirt sophomore for Marist in 2012. "That's been the key to my development; playing every day and going through the grind."
Mohawk Valley clinched a playoff spot on Wednesday with its 9-3 win at Watertown.
Stuckey will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with the Marauders.
The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is a New York-based summer wood bat league for college players founded in 2010, in conjunction with Perfect Game USA, baseball's largest scouting service.
