HARRISBURG - Hersheypark Stadium will host the upcoming exhibition match between the Harrisburg City Islanders and Philadelphia Union, the City Islanders announced Wednesday.
Harrisburg's match against the club’s MLS affiliate is Tuesday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. This will be the third game played between the two clubs since the teams became official partners in March 2010.
“We are once again thrilled to have the Union back in Central Pennsylvania,” City Islanders general manager John Gregg said in a statement. “This game is one of our biggest draws of the season and an exciting opportunity for both our players and fans. This year’s match will be especially memorable as we welcome back two of our former Islander players. We are pleased to be playing this at the Hersheypark Stadium.”
The Union beat Harrisburg 5-3 in last year’s match, while the two clubs battled to a 1-1 draw in 2010. A handful of players have joined the Union after playing in Harrisburg, including Sheanon Williams and Chase Harrison.
Advance tickets for the game are $15 for kids and $20 for adults.
