NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. -- York’s Carl Billet collected his 56th career victory at Susquehanna Speedway Park by winning the 20-lap Late Model feature event on Saturday on York County racing Club Night.
Doug Bennett of Chambersburg won the 20-lap Street Stock feature, his third straight victory in the class.
The late model feature began with rookie driver J.R. Rodriguez jumping out the lead from his front row starting spot. Billet stalked Rodriguez lap after lap and finally made his move to the high side on lap 16. A pass for the lead finally worked on lap 19 and Billet then set sail for the checkers and the win.
In street stock action, Jim Palm Jr. took the early lead; with Bennett taking the top spot on the fifth lap. Bennett was pursued closely by the trio of Palm, Randy Zechman and Mike Zeigler Jr., but Bennett never faltered and claimed the 20-lap main.
Cameron Benyou of New Cumberland won his first Xtreme Stock Car feature of the season.
York Haven’s Daryl Sipe won the Road Warrior 15-lap main and Mt. Wolf’s Anthony Roberts won the 10-lap Pro Sign & Design Mini Van feature event. Aaron Brommer of Auburn continued his dominance at SSP by winning the 12-lap PENNMAR Vintage Car feature event.
