NEWBERRYTOWN – New Cumberland's Cameron Benyou escaped serious injury Saturday after slamming into the concrete wall at Susquehanna Speedway Park, leaving a gaping hole along the front stretch at the York County track.
On the final circuit of the 20-lap Xtreme stock car event, Adam Smith came off the fourth turn and made the pass for the win, holding on for his first win of the season. Donnie Broderick settled for second followed by Patrick McClane in third. Jim Palm Jr. took fourth position followed by Dave Goode Sr. in fifth. Benyou came in 12th.
Dover's J.R. Rodriguez collected his first career late model feature win Saturday Night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park.
After a caution and a restart Rodriguez went back to the top and on the final lap, blasted back by Billet coming off turn two. Rodriguez collected his career first late model win over Billet with Carl Billet finishing close in third.
Randy Zechman of Littlestown collected his first win of the season claiming the 20-lap street stock feature. Brian Rehbein led until lap 8 when Zechman took the top spot away from Rehbein. Midway through the race, Scott Thunberg moved into the runner-up spot to challenge Zechman but could never make the pass for the lead. At the end, Zechman passed Thunberg for the win.
York Haven's Daryl Sipe won the Road Warrior 15-lapper. Donny Groff led from start-to-finish to win the Pro Sign & Design Mini Van feature.
