PORT ROYAL - Blane Heimbach won the biggest sprint car race of his career Saturday night, taking the Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway.
Heimbach's earned nearly $13,000 for his efforts, including lap money and earnings from winning the semi-feature..
Heimbach took the lead coming off of turn four on lap number nine and picked up the victory by 2.737 seconds over Aaron Ott. Danny Dietrich finished third, followed by NASCAR star Tony Stewart.
Stewart won the other 16-lap semi-main. The twin semis were used to set the 30-lap Dream A Main field and both Stewart and Heimbach claimed $2,000 for their efforts.
Sprint car driver and owner greats Lynn Paxton and Al Hamilton were honored during the evening as the 2012 Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race honorees.
