NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. -- Dover’s Gene Knaub dominated the 25-lap Late Model feature Saturday to claim his second of the year at Susquehanna Speedway Park.

Hanover’s Dan Zechman won his eighth feature in street stock racing; J.R. Rodriguez of Dover held off all challengers to win his second Xtreme Stock Car feature of the year; and Matt Mountz of Wernersville won the PA Sprint Series 20-lapper.

York Haven’s Daryl Sipe remained unbeaten this season in the Mini Van class with his sixth feature win.

The 25-lap Late Model feature event saw Charles Potts set the pace for the first nine laps of the race. Meanwhile, Late Model veteran Knaub moved from his eighth-place starting spot to the runner-up position during those laps. Knaub took the lead on lap 10 and never missed a beat to win the feature by half a lap with the final 19 laps of the race going non-stop.

Chris Knopp settled for second place, followed by Potts in third. Bob Minnich finished a season best fourth place, followed by Carl Billet in fifth. Randy Christine Jr., Gary Potts and John Moser Jr. were heat race winners.

Zechman led from start to finish in the 20-lap Street Stock feature for his eighth victory of the season. Scott Thunberg came from fifth to finish second. Jim Palm Jr. finished third, followed by Bruce McClane. Jaynee Zeigler cracked the top five for the first time this season with a solid finish. Dan and Randy Zechman were heat race victors.

J.R. Rodriguez took the early lead in the Xtreme Stock Car race and set sail, looking for his second feature win of the year. Mike Goodwin stalked Rodriguez the entire race, waiting for a mistake by the leader; but Rodriguez never faltered, taking the victory over Goodwin. Tim Hahn took third place, followed by Patrick McClane. Tim Osheehan finished strong in fifth. Hahn and Adam Smith won their respective heat races.

The PA Sprint Series visited SSP for the third time this season. Erin Statler grabbed the early lead to control the first two circuits of the 20-lap feature event. Matt Mountz took the lead on the third lap and never looked back to win feature event. Statler held onto the runner-up spot with Mark Watkins finishing third. Kody Lehman and Brian Walker rounded out the top five. Statler and Watkins won the heat races earlier in the evening.

Daryl Sipe took the lead on lap twelve of the Mini Van 15 lapper to claim his sixth victory of the year over early leader Anthony Roberts. Donnie Groff finished third, followed by Davey Groff and Al Kessock in fourth and fifth places respectively. Sipe won the heat race.
