MECHANICSBURG - Fred Rahmer started third yet still claimed Friday night’s 25-lap World of Outlaws feature at Williams Grove Speedway.
He earned $8,000 for the victory.
Daryn Pittman claimed second place, while Greg Hodnett finished third.
“It’s been a tough year so far," said Rahmer after the win, according to the track's website. "It’s a pretty good night to get my head out of my a--.”
Rahmer trailed polesitter Jason Sides of Bartlett, TN., for the first 21 laps.
Hodnett, who started sixth, briefly took the lead from Sides on lap 19 but could not hold onto it.
Rahmer's CJB Motorsports No. 51 passed Sides and Hodnett on the next lap; the only caution flag of the event then unfurled with four laps to go for Sides who struck the wall in turn one and stopped abruptly.
After a double-file restart, Rahmer could not be caught and finished off the win.
“That was a fun second,“ Pittman said. "That was the most fun I’ve had in a race car in a really long time.”
Danny Dietrich rode home fourth with 11th-starter Steve Kinser ending up fifth. Sixth through 10th went to Stevie Smith, Don Kreitz Jr., Sammy Swindell, Craig Dollansky and Lucas Wolf.
