YORK HAVEN -- One powerful punch made a lot of people take notice of Darrell Horcher.
Now he's trying to nail down a spot in next year's Bellator Fighting Championships tournament.
Horcher, of Shermans Dale, Perry County, dropped E.J. Brooks in a mere 0:21 in the first round on October 19 at Bellator Fighting Championships 77.
It was his first fight with Bellator, the second-largest mixed martial arts organization in the world. He's now scheduled to fight MMA veteran Chris Liguori (15-9-0) on December 7 in Atlantic City.
"I actually worked those butterflies out last time; I couldn't have worked them out any better than (winning in 0:21)," said Horcher, 25. "There's always that pressure. There's always that stress. You don't want to lose."
Horcher (6-0) has been training at Haas Combat and Fitness in York Haven; he previously was a member of Blackman MMA.
With a win in his next fight, he'll further solidify a place in next year's championship tournament. He's currently an alternate in this season's promotion.
