UNIVERSITY PARK -- The Penn State football team flexed some muscle at the 10th Annual Penn State Uplifting Athletes Lift For Life, raising more than $110,000 -- a new record -- on Friday for the Kidney Cancer Association.
The total breaks the chapter’s previous record of $100,930 from the 2011 Lift For Life, according to the school.
This year’s event was held outside for the first time and was attended by 2,500 fans at the new Penn State Lacrosse Field.
More than $700,000 has been raised by Penn State Uplifting Athletes since the inaugural event in 2003.
