YORK -- Shane Williams' two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Pennsylvania to a 7-5 win over Maryland in the inaugural game of the Big 26 Baseball Classic at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

Williams, who attends St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia, drove both runs in with an opposite field hit to left field to make the score 6-4.

Maryland led 4-0 after three innings. Red Land's Jamie Eshleman's ground out to second tied the score in the sixth.

Hunter Schryver of Cumberland Valley tossed two scoreless innings for Pennsylvania.

The Big 26 Classic is a three-game series featuring some of the best rising seniors from the two states. Maryland won game two on Saturday night, 15-4. The final game of the event is Sunday at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg.
