HARRISBURG -- The Mid-Penn Conference has three top seeds in the upcoming District 3 boys' and girls' basketball tournaments.
Steel-High's girls squad, the defending state champions, are the number one-seed in Class A, while Palmyra is the top seed in Class AAA. The Rollers are led by state player of year candidate Malia Tate-DeFreitas, a junior, who recently passed the 2000 point mark for her career.
In boys' basketball, Central Dauphin (21-1) in the top seed in Class AAAA; and Hershey, the champions of the Mid-Penn's Keyston Division, is number-two with a 20-1 record.
Both tournaments begin February 17.
Lampeter-Strasburg (AAA), York Catholic (AA) and Greenwood (A) are the other top seeds in boys' action. The girls/ brackets are also led by Reading (AAAA) and York Catholic (AA).
The finals are March 2-3 at GIANT Center in Hershey.
