Chris Papst is a
two-time Emmy award-winning journalist who came to CBS-21 in September of
2010. Before his move to Harrisburg, Chris anchored and reported in Madison,
Wisconsin and Casper, Wyoming.
In
2009, he earned a Midwest Emmy for his coverage of US Airways Flight 1549.
Two years later, he won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for an investigate piece on
legislative pensions. He has also received nearly a dozen Associated Press
and state broadcasters association awards for best Spot News, Live Shot,
Feature Reporting and more.
In
addition to his broadcast news career, Chris is a successful syndicated
columnist. "On Point with Chris Papst" is available to tens of thousands of
readers, via numerous newspapers, in central and southeastern PA.
In May of 2005, Chris
received his Master of Arts in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass
Media from Temple University. Two years prior he earned a Bachelor of Arts
in Media Communication and Music from the University of Pittsburgh. During
his time in Pittsburgh, Chris earned four varsity letters as a member of the
Pitt Panther baseball team.
Chris spends much of his
free time trying to get his first novel (Devolution) published, while
writing follow-up books. In Wyoming, he ran a marathon and in Wisconsin he
completed an Olympic Triathlon (two things he will never do again). He
enjoys fishing, reading (history and fiction), exercising, playing the
guitar and enjoying the company of his wonderful wife, whom he wed on
October 15, 2005.
