and anchors the 5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 10:00pm and
11:00pm newscasts along with co-anchor, Robb Hanrahan.
Prior to her employment with CBS 21, Tanya worked at the
ABC affiliate in Waco, Texas and the CBS affiliate in
Wichita Falls, Texas.
Tanya received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from
Texas State University in San Marcos. Outside of her
journalism work, Tanya uses her knowledge of sign language
to volunteer in the deaf community.
Most recently she
partnered with the Center for Independent Living in
Central PA as their spokesperson and together, created a
news segment called “Living Well with a Disability” that
airs on CBS 21 news.
Tanya is also
very active in raising awareness of animal abuse and
neglect. She has done extensive work with animal shelters
in Texas and currently volunteers at an animal rescue near
Philadelphia that finds homes for dogs primarily rescued
from Puppy Mills.
Tanya, along with
her husband Ben and their three dogs--Dixie, Daisy and
Dora--enjoy traveling and spending time with their
Texas-sized family including seven nephews and one niece.
Tanya is an avid reader and spends a lot of her time
keeping up with her book club. Having lived her entire
life in the Lone Star state, Tanya is ecstatic to
finally experience a true winter.
"I am honored to be part of such a trusted news organization in an
amazing part of the country,” says Tanya. “My husband's
family has made Central Pennsylvania home for many years
and we are so blessed to finally have the opportunity to
make it our home."
Tanya enjoys hearing from viewers. Don't hesitate to email or call
