Mike Parker
anchors the 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 & 11pm newscasts with co-anchor
Tanya Foster. Mike grew up right here in Dauphin County,
so he knows and loves
Central Pennsylvania.
Prior to serving the viewers of Central PA as Anchor for CBS 21,
Mike reported on some of the biggest stories in the area.
His most memorable assignments have included two
gubernatorial inaugurations, memorial dedications at the
site of the Flight 93 crash in Shanksville, and covering the
trial of a former local police corporal accused of accepting
bribes from prostitutes. Mike continues to report regularly
on issues concerning fire safety with his Engine 21 Reports.
Before making the switch to television, Mike spent three years as
an Anchor/Reporter for WHP Talk Radio 580. His most
memorable moments include reporting live from New York City
on the one-week anniversary of 9/11, and being on the air
the morning of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
Mike is the resident outdoorsman at CBS 21. Over the years, he has
captured and tagged Canada Geese, tasted moose stew live on
the air, and even collected eggs from live trout at a local
hatchery!
Mike is also very committed to local community groups, including
Communities That Care of Halifax and Lebanon, and Domestic
Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties.
Outside of work, you will find Mike spending time with his wife,
Tara, and their dogs, Sunny and Emmy. Mike also enjoys
hunting and fishing, and spend s most of my vacations on the
beach.
