Tanya Foster joined CBS 21 in January of 2008 and anchors the 5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 10:00pm and 11:00pm newscasts along with co-anchor, Robb Hanrahan.
Prior to her employment with CBS 21, Tanya worked at the ABC affiliate in Waco, Texas and the CBS affiliate in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Tanya received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Texas State University in San Marcos. She began her career in Television News as a Reporter and Morning Anchor at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas. She also worked at KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas as the Morning/Midday Anchor. While at CBS 21, Tanya was honored with Emmy Awards for Outstanding Human Interest News Feature for her report "Images of Bravery" and Outstanding Newscast Evening Anchor. She also received 1st Place from the PA AP Broadcasters Association for "Images of Bravery".
For the past 4 years, Tanya has worked with the Center for Independent Living in Central PA as their spokesperson and together, created a news segment called “Living Well with a Disability” that airs on CBS 21 News.
Outside of her journalism work, Tanya uses her knowledge of sign language to volunteer in the deaf community. Tanya is also very active in raising awareness of animal abuse and neglect. She has done extensive work with animal shelters in Texas and currently partners with Central PA rescues and shelters to highlight their efforts through news stories.
Tanya, along with her husband Ben and their three dogs--Dixie, Daisy and Dora--enjoy traveling and spending time with their Texas-sized family including eight nephews and one niece. Tanya is an avid reader and spends a lot of her time keeping up with her book club.
