Tanya
Foster joined CBS 21 in January of 2008 and anchors the
5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 10:00pm and 11:00pm newscasts along
with co-anchor, Mike Parker.
Prior to her employment with CBS 21, Tanya was Morning and
Midday Anchor and Reporter for KXXV-TV, the ABC station in
Waco, Texas. She began her career in broadcast journalism at
KAUZ-TV, the CBS affiliate in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Born and raised in Texas, Tanya received her Bachelor of Arts in
Broadcast Journalism from Texas State University in San
Marcos. Outside of her journalism work, Tanya uses her
knowledge of sign language to volunteer in the deaf
community where she enjoys signing stories to children. Most
recently she paired up with the Center for Independent
Living in Central PA as their spokesperson and created a
news segment called “Living Well with a Disability” that
airs on CBS 21 news at 6pm the first Tuesday of every month.
Tanya is also very active in raising awareness of animal
abuse and neglect. She has done extensive work with animal
shelters in Texas and currently volunteers at an animal
shelter near Philadelphia that finds homes for dogs taken
from Puppy Mills.
Tanya, along with her husband Ben and their three dogs--Dixie,
Daisy and Dora--enjoy traveling and spending time with their
Texas-sized family including seven nephews and one niece.
Tanya is an avid reader and spends a lot of her time keeping
up with her Book Club.
"I am honored to be part of such a trusted news organization in an
amazing part of the country,” says Tanya. “My husband's
family has made Central Pennsylvania home for many years and
we are so blessed to finally have the opportunity to make it
our home."
Tanya enjoys hearing from viewers. If you see her in the
community, please say hello or email her anytime.
