JOB DESCRIPTION: WHP / WLYH has an immediate opening for an IT Engineer.
The person will assist in design, integration and support of a Television infrastructure with associated video servers, switchers, encoders and related interconnecting system networks. This person will be responsible for support of all IT systems. Additionally, IT maintenance and support of broadcast systems such as non-linear video/audio editing applications, digital video and audio transmission systems, playback and broadcast automation systems and satellite and Internet delivery technologies are core requirements for this position. Oversight and maintenance of business systems are central to this position.
The ability to install, configure, and maintain broadcast servers, system interfaces, desktops, laptops, routers, switches, and printers within the broadcast environment is essential. Applicants must have knowledge of LANs and advanced computer networking. The preferred applicant should possess strong IT skills and have previous experience supporting local broadcast operations.
The successful candidate must also be available to support systems based on need including emergency response at irregular hours, weekends and holidays. This individual must have the ability to work with management and support our team to develop and maintain innovative solutions to broadcast technical challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates should have five plus years IT technical experience including advanced network management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for this position. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
Technical Skills and Qualifications: Microsoft Client Operating Systems Certification including Server 2003/2008 Advanced education with diploma in IT network administration with related work experience Previous IT experience within a commercial broadcast facility Network Administration Advance Proficiency RAID to RAID 10 Configuration Microsoft Office 2003-2010 Professional LAN, WAN and WLAN Configuration Network Printing VPN Installation, Integration and Support Telco Business System Support Network hardware, implementation and configuration IT Disaster Recovery plans, backup implementation and Practices
