HERSHEY -- Bishop McDevitt scored 21 unanswered points in a convincing 28-14 victory over Lampeter-Strasburg in the District 3-AAA final on Friday at Hersheypark Stadium.
McDevitt (12-2) claimed its second straight district championship and will play Montour in PIAA-AAA semifinals.
After a 22-yard touchdown pass from Nate Shank to Jordan Groff gave the Pioneers (12-2) a 14-7 lead in the second quarter, McDevitt's Shawn Seif returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a score. Darnell Holland's three-yard touchdown with 1:21 remaining in the second quarter allowed the Crusaders to pull ahead, 21-14.
Andre Robinson added a five-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The Pioneers outgained McDevitt on offense; with 275 yards to the Crusaders' 247 yards.
The win was the 500th career victory for the Bishop McDevitt program.
