SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP -- Bishop McDevitt is preparing for Cathedral Prep -- again.
The Crusaders (13-0) will meet Erie Cathedral Prep (13-0) in the PIAA-AAA semifinals on Friday at Clearfield High School. McDevitt defeated the Ramblers 24-21 in the state semifinals in 2010.
It's not always easy being on top, but McDevitt coach Jeff Weachter says coaching this group of Crusaders -- the three-time defending district champs -- has been enjoyable.
"Its been a joy to coach; a lot of fun," said Weachter of his 2012 team. "Our coaching staff has done a great job; but its the kids that have really been unbelievable for us this year."
Bishop McDevitt is ranked eighth in the most recent MaxPreps Pennsylvania football poll, while Cathedral Prep is fourth. The winner advances to the Class AAA title game on December 14 at Hersheypark Stadium.
"I always prepare that the pressure is on me," said quarterback Alec Werner. "You want to win. You can't accept failure.
"I just want to get this win on Friday; I'm very excited."
