According to Energy Star®,
the average homeowner spends $1,900 annually on energy
bills. With the Energy Star Rated windows from Renewal by
Andersen, summer cooling costs can be reduced as much as
56%.
Windows are rated by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
for energy efficiency. That is called the Energy Star
rating. Check a window’s U-Factor on the NFRC label. The
lower the U-Factor the better the insulation.
For cold-weather heating efficiency, look for windows with a
U-Factor of 0.35 or lower. You can find this rating on the
NFRC label on the window. Windows that don’t have an NFRC
label have not been tested for energy efficiency.
Windows from Renewal by Andersen have Green Seal certification.
This means they are environmentally preferred windows that
meet energy efficiency requirements and are manufactured
in an environmentally conscious way.
A window’s durability is key to making them a good energy
investment for you. Look for a strong warranty when
“window” shopping, and buy your windows from a company
that has a long-established reputation.
Renewal by Andersen’s commitment to environmental responsibility
started back in the 1970s when they started using
reclaimed wood fibers from their manufacturing to develop
wood composites to ensure forest sustainability.
40% of the wood used in windows from Renewal by Andersen is
reclaimed wood fiber. It is a patented material call
Fibrex®. In addition, 12%-17% of the glass is recycled
content. That’s why they’re the only windows with Green
Seal Certification.
In 2001 Andersen Corporation, maker of replacements windows from
Renewal by Andersen, was selected as a charter member in
the U.S. EPA National Environmental Performance Track
Program for its superior environmental accomplishments.
Windows from Renewal by
Andersen are all made from the High-Performance Low-E4®
Glass. This glass is 45% MORE energy efficient in winter
and 56% MORE energy efficient in summer than ordinary dual
pane glass. Follow this
