The Evangelical Free Church of Hershey offers a job placement workshop each week at this Career Transition Center for folks like Dante Peeks to get free help with job training, skill testing, resume polishing and interview practice.
You don't have to be a member of the church, just open to the ideas of Paul Dronsfield -- an Employment Consultant who says his first step is helping people who have lost their job, not make what he calls a common mistake.
Dronsfield, Vice President & Senior Consultant of Resources 2000 Plus says, "right away the knee jerk reaction is to get a Sunday paper, look at the classifieds, dust off the old resume and add the last job you had to it. My approach is to ask what are your skills, what is it you want to do".
In the four weeks the Career Transition Center has been up and running, about 50 people have received help, six have found jobs.
