The American Hockey League's USA All-Stars scored five goals in the first period to beat the Canadian All-Stars 6-5 at Hersheypark Arena in the 1996 AHL All-Star Classic. Wes Walz was the game's number-one star with a goal and two assists.

Providence's Mitch Lamoureux, a former Hershey Bear, served as captain of the USA squad. He had one assist in the game.

The 2011 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Capital BlueCross will be played Monday, January 31 at GIANT Center.

A crowd of 6523 fans attended the 1996 game, according to the AHL.
