The Dierolf household in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, consists of two-legged Deb, four-legged Buddy and Lupe, and Milo, two legs and two wheels.
"Milo runs over your toes with his back wheels and he'll just go!" describes Deb Dierolf, Milo's owner.  Milo's life began 6 years ago. Before he relied on his wheels to get around he was just like any other dog.  "Milo was the most unique because he had one brown eye and one blue eye and he had all the markings on him, so he was the one!" says Deb.  "I took him home that day."

However, Milo's life changed forever at the age of 4, when Deb noticed something wasn't right.  "I got up in the morning and he was still walking but was dragging his back legs," says Deb.  Milo was paralzyed.  A disk ruptured in his spine leaving him unable to use his back legs.  After an unsuccessful surgery, and months of rehbilibitation, his legs showed now sign of improvement.  "He was always active and liked to go for walks," explains Deb. "The other guys would go for walks and he'd just sit in the house."  That's when his cart rolled into their lives.  A wheelchair made especially for dogs, and this cart especially for Milo.
"It is a lot of work for a dog, but he was only four when it happened and i wasn't going to put him to sleep," says Deb.  "He can go around now, he's like a normal dog; he has a normal life."
