"I don't consider myself a disability person. I call myself, regular Morgan!" says Morgan Hevel as she laughs. Morgan, of Lebanon County, may consider herself just like any other kid, but for a 13 year old girl, she is not regular at all. Not because of her disability, but because of her imagination.
"I write fantasy fiction for teenagers," says Morgan. Two years ago, Morgan had an idea and it flourished. Resulting in a 100-plus page novel. "My first novel is called 'Piper Sinclair and the Village of Taunder' and it takes place in present day Scotland and it's about people who can transform into wolves," explains Morgan.
Years prior to the transformation into wolves, Morgan was making a transformation of her own. At the age of 6 she diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. "When my doctors told me I'd be paralyzed at age 10, first of all I completely broke down," explains Morgan. "Now I'm 13, my birthday is in a couple of weeks and i'm still walking!"
Still walking and still writing. Morgan is now working on her second novel in the Piper Sinclair Trilogy. Her dream for the future is well underway.
"I'm waiting for the big sign 'youngest best selling author'!" says Morgan. "I'm waiting for it! it's coming!"
