HARRISBURG -- After contemplating retirement, defensive lineman Fearon Wright has decided to re-sign with the Harrisburg Stampede.

The team announced his signing on Tuesday. Wright played seven games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2001.

"Fearon plays with heart and desire like no player I have ever coached," said Stampede coach Bernie Nowotarski in a statement. "Coming back was all Fearon's decision and I am all in with that decision."

Wright, 34, suffered a season-ending neck injury late last season and -- up until a week ago -- considered retiring.

The Stampede also announced its first home game is Saturday, March 16 against the Washington Eagles.
