McSHERRYSTOWN -- Delone Catholic's Sierra Moore scored 28 points and became the all-time leading scorer in YAIAA girls' basketball history Tuesday night in the Squirettes' 65-27 win over Fairfield.

Moore, a Duke recruit, began the night 14 points shy of the record of 2304 points held by former Northeastern York star Autumn Lau. She scored her record-setting basket off a rebound in the second quarter.

"I couldn't have done it without my teammates," said the senior. "(To set the record) on senior night, makes it even better."

Moore, who averaged 23.4 points per game as a junior, now has 2318 points for her career.

"It's a great accomplishment for the school and the area," said Delone Catholic head coach Gerry Eckenrode.
