HARRISBURG -- Former major leaguer Melvin Dorta is re-joining the Washington Nationals organization as a player/coach, CBS 21 News Sports Director Jason Bristol has learned.

Dorta, who works as the lead baseball instructor at B2B Baseball & Softball Academy in Palmyra, will primarily be a coach for the Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League. He played in parts of four seasons with the Senators.

He did not play pro ball in 2012.

The Nationals did not respond to an email seeking confirmation of the move.

Dorta played 15 games for the Nationals in 2006.
