MECHANICSBURG -- Who’s the best quarterback in District 3?

Cedar Cliff High School head coach Jim Cantafio thinks it’s his starter, junior Andrew Ford.

"I'm not afraid to say it, I think Andrew Ford is the best quarterback in District 3," Cantafio said recently. "He's gonna be a legit Division I quarterback.

"He's very dedicated, he's a leader, and what's most important, he's the smartest quarterback I've ever had, and I've had some good ones, especially Chad Henne in the NFL."

Cedar Cliff will need every ounce of Ford's talent this season.

The Colts lost Ford's close friend and the nation's top tight end prospect, Adam Breneman, a Penn State recruit, this summer to a season-ending knee injury.

Ford, who passed for 1370 yards last season with 12 touchdowns, is ready for the added responsibility.

“I've always been a student of the game, I like to watch film every night," said Ford.  "I watch NFL games just to do it; I'll rewind a couple of plays here and there. It's fun for me to do it."
