HARRISBURG -- Geoff Pezon is thankful for the Harrisburg Heat.

Without the new Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) team coming to Harrisburg, Pezon would probably not be playing professionally.

Pezon scored the game-winning goal in the 2010 national championship game for Messiah College.

He's able to continue playing thanks to the Heat's late-night practice schedule. He works during the day at an engineering firm in Chambersburg.

While he's best remembered for a huge goal in a title game, one play doesn't define him. "I look back and I say, 'Yeah, that was awesome and I love my teammates and I love everything that happened,'" said Pezon last week before the team practiced at Sports City.

"But moving forward, you can't live in (that moment), you got to move on and take what you're learned and apply it to where you are in the next stage of life."

Pezon has two shots on goal in two games for the Heat (0-2), which plays Ohio at home on Saturday at the Farm Show.
