STONY BROOK, New York -- Stony Brook outfielder Travis Jankowski, a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, has been named America East Conference Player of the Year.

He ranks 16th in the nation in batting average (.397) and runs scored (59); and is eighth in steals (34). He leads the country with nine triples.

Jankowski earned MVP honors last summer in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. He should be selected in the first two rounds in next month's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
