HARRISBURG -- Franklin & Marshall and Lebanon Valley College will face each other in football again for the first time since 1982, beginning in 2014.

The two schools will play a four-game series; the Diplomats will host the 2014 and 2016 games, with the Dutchmen serving as the home team in 2015 and 2017.

The former conference rivals will play each other in Week 1 of each season.

"This is a great opportunity to renew a local rivalry," said F&M coach John Troxell in a statement. "What better way to open up our season than with our own local backyard brawl?"

We are very excited about renewing this rivalry between two great institutions!" said LVC head coach Jim Monos, who in 19 seasons at LVC has never faced the Diplomats, in a statement.

F&M and LVC have met 34 times, beginning in 1899 and ending in 1982.

The two schools used to face each other as members of Middle Atlantic Conference until 1982; when the Diplomats left for the Centennial Conference in 1983.

F&M holds 25-8-1 series advantage.
