HARRISBURG -- The Eagle couldn't make it. Fortunately, the frozen turkeys did.

Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy was a no-show at his second annual turkey giveaway at VILLA sneaker store in Harrisburg. He had a good excuse, however; McCoy is recovering from a concussion he suffered Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

250 turkeys were still handed out to those in need, with help from volunteers like Senator-elect Rob Teplitz, a Dauphin County Democrat.

"Unfortunately, (McCoy's) injury prevented him from being here," said Paul Kreider of McCoy's Foundation. "He think its important to give back (to) where he came from."

Philadelphia plays Carolina on Monday night. Eagles coach Andy Reid said McCoy is "day-to-day."

The former Bishop McDevitt High School star has rushed for 750 yards in 2012 with two touchdowns.

Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson and Chris "Handles" Franklin assisted with the turkey giveaway, as well.
