SHIPPENSBURG -- The Raiders are once again counting on some former Eagles.
Senior Mike Frenette and redshirt sophomore Trevor Harman, both graduates of Cumberland Valley, figure to be the offensive leaders for Shippensburg University, which is predicted to finish fifth in the PSAC East.
"I expect a lot out of both of them," said head coach Mark Maciejewski, now in his second season. "They got to step up and be big-time playmakers for us. And we're going to get the ball to both of those guys."
Both made things happen last year with the ball in their hands.
Frenette broke the SU single-season record in 2011 for all-purpose yards with 1,780 - 82 more than John Kuhn '04 totaled in 2003. Harman led the Raiders last season in every single receiving category, including touchdowns with nine.
Shippensburg begins the season against Shepherd on September 1 at Seth Grove Stadium.
"Me and Trevor both are really excited; we both trained together this summer," said Frenette. "We're really looking forward to have a good year and helping out the team whatever way we can."
"After getting that first year under my belt, I definitely need to have a good year this year," added Harman. "I feel I really understand the offense. Definitely expecting big things."
