HARRISBURG -- The San Diego Sockers scored five unanswered goals -- including four after halftime -- to beat the Harrisburg Heat 10-3 Friday night at the Farm Show Complex for their 48th-straight win, extending a U.S. professional sports team record.

Brian Farber scored two short-handed goals for San Diego (11-0) just 14 seconds apart in the third quarter to put the game away.

Tyler Witmer, Val Teixeira and Yann Ekra each scored for Harrisburg (4-8). The Heat's final home match of the regular season is Saturday at the Farm Show's Equine Arena.

The Sockers haven't lost since Dec. 27, 2010; when they dropped a 9-8 overtime decision to the California Cougars. Their winning streak began two days later with a 7-5 victory against the San Diego Fusion.
