HARRISBURG -- Wide receiver Scorpio Brown hauled in four touchdown passes and the Harrisburg Stampede defense picked off five passes in a 67-5 win over the Tri-State Red Hawks Saturday at the PA Farm Show Complex.
Brown caught a 32-yard pass from quarterback E.J. Nemeth in the first quarter and later scored three more times in the second half; on passes of 27, 29 and 21 yards, respectively. The Stampede scored on four of its six red-zone opportunities.
The Stampede (6-0) has one remaining regular season game -- Saturday at Cape Fear -- before hosting a playoff game on either June 2 or June 9.
Richard Johnson's 25-yard interception return for a score in the second quarter gave the Stampede a 40-5 lead.
Tri-State (1-3) earned a safety from Devan Jones in the second quarter. The Red Hawks' Ryan McGowen kicked a 35-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first quarter to cut the Stampede's lead to 13-3.
