The National Sports Hall of Fame is finished on the internet, too.
CBS 21 News Sports Director Jason Bristol discovered on Wednesday the hall’s website, www.nationalsportshalloffame.net, is no longer up and running.
The site was registered to Greg Rothman of RSR Realtors and was created in May 2007. Rothman was the exclusive marketing and listing agent for the office space that would have been inside the facility on Harrisburg’s City Island.
According to whois.net, a domain-based research tool, the site was last updated on May 10, 2009.
Rothman told Bristol he instructed his webmaster to pull the site. “Even if (we) got the tenants, (the hall of fame) probably wasn’t going to happen,” Rothman said.
In March, a Harrisburg City spokesman said The National Sports Hall of Fame concept was essentially dead, due to a lack of funding, and not because of CBS 21 News' exclusive investigation into the project and its CEO and President, John Levenda.
