CBS 21 News teams up with area high schools to present an alcohol and drug prevention program that's both entertaining and informative. Stylish Statement 2008 features a realistic CBS 21 newscast where students fill the roles of our reporters in the field. A group of student actors play out a realistic peer pressure scenario, that offers a strong message for both teenagers and parents.
Our partners for Stylish Statement currently include:
- Halifax Area School District
- Millersburg Area School District
- Upper Dauphin Area School District
- Williams Valley School District
Our regional production of the show, open to the public, features a mix of student members and advisors from each of the schools' Stand Tall Clubs, or SADD chapters. Local productions presented internally to each high school feature only that school's own students featured as reporters.
Students are involved in every aspect of the production, from concept
to promotion and production. In most productions, the CBS 21 newscast and video is presented in combination with a real fashion show, where student models walk the runway wearing the newest Prom gown and tuxedo designs on loan from local formal shoppes.
