Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty (ab-DOM-in-oh-plast-ee), or 'tummy tuck,' removes excess wrinkled skin and fatty tissue from your abdomen. Your abdominal muscles are also tightened for a smoother and flatter stomach.
Chemical peel
A chemical peel uses various types and strengths of acid to effect a controlled burn on the upper layers of the skin. By removing these damaged outer layers, a fresher, more youthful complexion is revealed.
Correction of large ears
Whether you were born with overly large ears or your earlobes have stretched with age, plastic surgery can reduce their size. The procedures can be performed on both children and adults, though children should be at least four years old.
Correction of protruding ears (Otoplasty)
Otoplasty (AW-toe-plass-tee) is a surgical procedure to correct protruding ears, which can be performed anytime after the age of four. Protruding ears are often the result of a missing fold in the middle of the ear.
Cosmetic removal of varicose veins
A varicose vein is created when blood pools up inside a vein instead of returning to the heart. This stretches the vein and makes it noticeable. Varicose veins are larger than spider veins and tend to be blue rather than red, and they may also be raised or bulging.
Hair removal
Light energy can quickly treat unwanted hair almost anywhere on your body. For most patients, Epilight intense pulsed light hair removal is faster and more effective than electrolysis.
Labioplasty (female)
A labioplasty (LAY-bee-oh-plass-tee) is an operation to reshape the labia minora (LAY-bee-uh mih-NORE-uh), which are the inner 'lips' or folds of skin on either side of the vagina.
Mini-tummy tuck
A mini-tummy tuck is a limited version of abdominoplasty (ab-DOM-in-oh-plass-tee) which addresses only the lower abdomen instead of the entire stomach region.
Neck-lift
A neck-lift is an operation to correct sagging skin under the chin and on the neck usually performed in conjunction with a face-lift or on its own. However, results are not as dramatic when a neck-lift alone is performed, as a doctor would have only one location in the chin from which to lift tissue, instead of the two locations in a full face- lift.
Permanent lip color and eyeliner
Permanent cosmetics are a tattooing process by which natural pigments are inserted into the skin, reducing or eliminating the need to apply makeup. They may be sought for convenience, to improve a facial feature's shape, or as a solution for those with allergies who can't wear makeup.
Photoderm
Photoderm is a unique computer-controlled pulse light used to treat a variety of conditions, including vascular problems and unwanted hair. Treatable vascular problems include spider veins, hemangiomas (hih-man-gee-OH-muh), and port-wine stains.
Skin-cancer-removal and reconstruction
While skin cancers can appear anywhere on the body, a majority occur on the face, head, and neck, where sun exposure tends to be greatest. Most skin cancers are surgically removed.
Tattoo removal
If you have unwanted tattoos, there are several options available to reduce or eliminate them, though each method will still leave some mark. The type of treatment suggested may depend on how the tattoo was created, where it's located, what pigments are involved, and how large it is.
