Possums

Possums are wild animals that normally avoid contact with humans. They're nocturnal, and are rarely seen during the daytime. Still, a bowl of leftover pet food on a patio can offer an easy meal for a hungry possum. And an accessible attic or basement can be an attractive alternative to spending a cold winter's night outdoors. Under such conditions, a possum will often overcome its basic shyness and move in. As wild animals, they should never be approached or touched. They can bite when cornered and there's a chance of contracting disease. There's also the danger of disease, along with an odor problem, when a possum moves into or under your home. The best, and most humane method of removing an unwanted possum is to trap and release it in a wilderness area far from your home. Since this is an infrequent problem, most homeowners won't want to invest in a trap. Using a professional pest control specialist to trap and remove the possum is a simple and safer alternative.
